Barbados edge Kingston in first game of polo tri-series


Barbados’ national polo team opened their three-match tour of Jamaica on a winning note when they scored a 4-3 victory over Jamaica Polo Association’s Kingston team, in a very close six-chukka game at the Kingston Polo Club last Thursday.

Ace striker Teddy Williams was on target, inflicting two brilliant goals of his pallet, including a 40-yard penalty assisted by Adam Epstein, who was substituting for Roddy Davis.

The other goal came off a handicapped.

Meanwhile, Jamaica top defender and captain Paul Lalor was also on target for Kingston, scoring two goals, assisted by Charlie Chambers.

Kingston had most of the possession in the game but squandered several opportunities, including missing some penalties.
