Former Pepsi CEO dies while snorkeling in Cayman Islands.
Police said 71-year-old Enrico was snorkeling with friends at the popular Stingray City when he got into difficulty.
He was given CPR before a police vessel arrived and took him to a waiting ambulance at the George Town Yacht Club.
Despite efforts to revive Enrico, he was pronounced dead at the George Town Hospital just after 3 p.m.
The official cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Enrico joined PepsiCo in 1971 after serving in the Navy in the Vietnam War and rose swiftly through the ranks, according to the New York Times. He oversaw the company’s advertising campaign during the so-called Cola Wars, making marketing deals with celebrities like Michael Jackson, Madonna and Michael J. Fox.
