Alkaline Album Fails To Chart On Billboard
Dancehall artiste Alkaline released his debut album, New Level Unlocked, last week with much social-media fanfare. However, despite climbing the iTunes chart, the project failed to make an impression on Billboard reggae chart.
DJ Frass, who is the executive producer on the album, said Alkaline’s album features mature material. However, he also admitted that dancehall was not selling as much as reggae music.
“A one drop wi get the Grammy with, that’s why it’s good to do reggae. Mi mek more money off a reggae than dancehall music because a few dancehall artiste sell … I am the executive producer, but Alkaline produce one of the track, Lee Miller produce some and Sunshine produce one … this album has some different type of things – the raw Alkaline and the clean Alkaline,” he said.
Jah Cure Back In Top 10
