Three teenagers charged in murder of son of reggae singer Luciano

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Tuesday March 8, 2016 – Three 18-year-olds have been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of the son of reggae singer Luciano.

Menelik McClymont, a 19-year-old student, died on February 28, a day after being stabbed several times at a plaza in Kingston.

Charged with his killing are Jerome Coombs and Camanie Shaw, both students, along with Nashlyn Anderson.

They are expected to appear in court on Friday.

Following McClymont’s death, Luciano – whose given name is Jephter McClymont – posted a video on social media in which he appealed to anyone who had information about the stabbing to pass it on to police.

The youth ah go school and the man dem lay wait him . . . These culprits cyaan just get away, kill off innocent people and run gone hide and live like all is well,” he said.

“Me hear say dem drive off inna a car. Anyone who have any information leading up to this. These youths haffi be apprehended,” Luciano added.
